Your Getaway includes rail transportation from Zurich or your starting point in Switzerland with local bus connections on to Vaduz, the capital city of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Vaduz is compact and easy to explore on foot. With a population of just 5,800 residents, you’ll be surprised how cosmopolitan it is. Visit the Liechtenstein Postal Museum and enjoy a wine tasting at the Princely Wine Cellar and Vineyards. Overnight in Vaduz.
After breakfast take a short bus ride to the traditional mountain village of Triesenberg, and begin with a visit to the Walser Museum. Start your walk along the Liechtenstein Trail as you pass though lush hillsides before arriving at the ruins of Schalun Castle and descending to Vaduz Castle, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein, before descending to Vaduz. Depart Vaduz for the mountain resort of Malbun and board the chairlift that takes you to the Sareis ridge. The Princes Gina Trail follows the ridge to the Augstenberg summit and Pfälzer hut before returning to Malbun and back to Vaduz for the evening. Overnight in Vaduz. (B)
